यह सिर्फ़ दो गुफ़ाएँ देखने की यात्रा नहीं थी। तस्वीरें बाल्कन पर्वतों में बीते पूरे दिन के साथ चलती हैं: आर्क ऑफ़ फ़्रीडम के पास हरी पर्वतमालाएँ, दिन की रोशनी से भरा देवेताश्का का विशाल रूप, लेदेनिका के अँधेरे गाइडेड कक्ष, सड़क किनारे कीचड़ वाला एक प्रयोग, और घर लौटते हुए रेलवे का एक अनपेक्षित पड़ाव।

## बाल्कन पर्वतों के पार

गुफ़ाओं तक पहुँचने से पहले सड़क खुली पहाड़ी ढलानों और लंबी जंगली घाटियों से गुज़रती है। मैंने शुरुआती फ़्रेम चौड़े और शांत रखे, क्योंकि वे पड़ावों के बीच की दूरी बताते हैं और देवेताश्का के प्रवेश द्वार का अचानक दिखता आकार और भी चौंकाने वाला लगता है।

## देवेताश्का गुफ़ा

देवेताश्का गुफ़ा वह जगह है जहाँ ज़रूर जाना चाहिए। विशाल, भीमकाय प्रवेश द्वार और सिर के ऊपर शानदार प्राकृतिक छेद। यक़ीनन देखने लायक़ जगह।

अगला कक्ष लगभग खुले आसमान जैसा लगता है। छत के विशाल छेदों से चट्टान, पानी और हरियाली पर दिन की रोशनी उतरती है, जबकि भीतर के रास्ते तेज़ी से अँधेरे में डूब जाते हैं। चटख हरियाली और काले चूना-पत्थर के इसी मेल ने देवेताश्का को दोनों गुफ़ाओं में तस्वीरों के लिहाज़ से ज़्यादा प्रभावशाली बनाया।

अनुमति वाले अँधेरे हिस्सों में टॉर्च काम आती है, पर निशान लगे आगंतुक-रास्तों पर ही रहें और वहाँ के मौजूदा नियम मानें। देवेताश्का में चमगादड़ों की एक बड़ी बस्ती है, इसलिए उनके आवास की रक्षा के लिए भीतरी हिस्सों में जाना सीमित हो सकता है।

## लेदेनिका गुफ़ा (Леденика)

इसके बाद लेदेनिका (Леденика) की बारी थी। इसकी गहराई, विशालता और गूँज ने मुझे प्रभावित किया। देवेताश्का की खुली प्राकृतिक रोशनी के उलट, लेदेनिका संकरे रास्तों, सीढ़ियों और कृत्रिम रोशनी में ढले गहरे हॉलों में खुलती है। कैमरे को परछाई-आकृतियों, एम्बर और नीले रोशनी-पुंजों और संरचनाओं के बीच चलते लोगों के पैमाने के साथ काम करना पड़ा।

तस्वीरों के लिहाज़ से चुनौती हर चीज़ को रोशन न करने की थी। फ़्रेम के कुछ हिस्सों को काला छोड़ने से गुफ़ा का एहसास बना रहा और रोशन चट्टानें, रेलिंग और आगंतुक अँधेरे में छोटे द्वीपों जैसे दिखे। एक शॉट के लिए बिना रोशनी वाले किनारे के रास्तों में जाने के बजाय गाइड वाले रास्ते पर ही रहें।

## पेपेरूदाता झरना और सूर्यास्त का पड़ाव

गुफ़ाओं के भीतरी दृश्यों के बाद पहाड़ी सड़क आई, ढलती धूप आई और एक इतना गहरा गड्ढा आया कि वहाँ से गुज़रती फ़ोर-व्हील-ड्राइव गाड़ी पानी की पूरी दीवार में बदल गई। यह सीरीज़ चुलबुली है, पर इतने स्थिर और बंद स्थानों के बाद दिन को गति के साथ समेटती भी है।

हम इस शानदार जगह पर रुके और पहाड़ों की चोटियों पर सूरज की आख़िरी किरणें देखते रहे। रास्ते में पानी का एक गड्ढा मिला था, और मैंने तय किया कि लौटते समय इस पर कुछ तस्वीरें लूँगा। और हमने ज़रूर लीं 🤣

## गड्ढे वाली सीरीज़

ये स्थिर तस्वीरें गाड़ी को गड्ढे में घुसते, छींटों में ओझल होते और हवा में ठहरे पानी के बीच से निकलते हुए पकड़ती हैं। अंत तक मैं पानी और मिट्टी से सराबोर हो गया था, पर तस्वीरें इसके लायक़ थीं 💦🔥

## कोप्रिव्श्तित्सा स्टेशन

आख़िरी तस्वीरें फिर शांत हैं: रेलवे की एक पीली सर्विस गाड़ी, उसकी घिसी केबिन और टूटी खिड़की, और फिर घर लौटते समय जंगलों और गाँवों पर उतरते नीचे बादल। यह अचानक बना अंत है, पर किसी और गुफ़ा की तस्वीर के मुक़ाबले इस दिन के साथ ज़्यादा जँचता है।

कोप्रिव्श्तित्सा (📍 Копривщица) रेलवे स्टेशन पर खड़ी सर्विस ट्रेन। पहाड़ों में बसे इस स्टेशन तक की रेल यात्रा यक़ीनन देखने लायक़ अनुभव होगी। किसी दिन इसे ज़रूर करना है।
